We run your IT — so you can run your business.

We're a Vanuatu managed IT provider — and we become your in-house IT team, backing up the staff you have or running the lot. Cameras, networks, Microsoft 365, phones and connectivity: we handle the technology so you can get on with business. Practical always wins — no jargon, no pressure, just IT that keeps working.

What we're best at

We become your in-house IT team

Technology should make life easier — practical and simple always wins. Here's where we do our best work for clients across Vanuatu. No jargon, no pressure, just things that keep working.

🎥

AI cameras & security

Smart cameras that tell a person from a passing dog, gate access that recognises your people, and alarms that mean business — all on one app, from anywhere.

🌐

Networks & business Wi-Fi

Fast, reliable coverage across your whole site — wired and wireless — designed to stay up through heat, salt and storms.

🧬

Optical fibre & cabling

Tidy, professional fibre and cabling backbones — the quiet foundation everything else runs on, done so cleanly you could read it like a map.

☁️

Microsoft 365 & cloud

Email, files and teamwork that just work — set up properly, backed up, and secured with two-step protection.

☎️

3CX phone systems

Modern business phones that travel with you — take calls on your mobile or laptop, no clunky hardware on the desk.

🛰️

Starlink & connectivity

Internet that holds up — even when the local line wobbles — so your cameras, calls and team stay connected.

The foundations

The part nobody sees — and everything depends on

The best camera in the world is only as good as the cable behind it. Most of what makes a system reliable is the part you never look at.

No proper cabling, no system.

Professional structured cabling by ODC — dressed, labelled patch panels in a tidy network cabinet
Real ODC work — run, dressed, tested and labelled. This is what "done properly" actually looks like.
🧵

Professional cabling — ethernet & optical fibre

Every camera, phone, door and access point rides on the cable behind it. We run it properly, dress it neatly, test it and label it — built for heat, salt and time. So the system still works in five years, and when something does go wrong, the fault takes minutes to find instead of days. Rushed cabling is the reason most systems quietly fall apart.

👁️

Cameras that see only what they should

AI cameras watch what matters and ignore what doesn't — a person, not a passing dog. And privacy zones mask the areas that shouldn't be recorded at all: a change room, a staff area, the neighbour's yard. You see exactly what you need to see, and nothing you shouldn't.

🚪

Doors that know who's who

Facial recognition and card access mean the right people get in without fuss — no lost keys, no shared PINs, no locks to re-key when someone moves on. Every door quietly keeps its own record, so if a question ever comes up, the answer is simply there. Calm, fair and clear, for everyone.

🔋

Power that doesn't quit

Solar, battery and inverter backup keeps your cameras, gates and alarms alive when the grid drops — through outages, storms and cyclone season. Security that stops the moment the power stops was never really security. In Vanuatu, this isn't a luxury. It's the whole point.

Why local matters

Anyone can fly in, install a system, and leave

What happens after that is what decides whether it was worth it. We're still here the next morning — and the next year.

🏠

Vanuatu is home

ODC has been working here for over 13 years. Our owner and general manager are both naturalised Vanuatu citizens — this isn't a posting, it's where we live. Our name is on every job, and we still walk past them.

💬

We explain it in Bislama

Our local IT team is trained to teach, not just install — and they do it in Bislama. When your staff truly understand a system, they actually use it, and that's when your investment starts paying you back. English and French too, whichever suits your team best.

⏱️

Systems down? We're on our way

When everything stops, you need a person standing beside you — not a ticket number. For systems-down emergencies we aim to be on site within the hour, anywhere in Vila. That's the moment it actually matters, and it's the moment we turn up.

How we make IT one less thing to worry about

1. Support shaped around you — No one-size contract. We build a Service Level Agreement around how you actually work — your priorities, your hours, your budget — so support is predictable and you always know exactly what's covered.

We work closely with you to design a Service Level Agreement (SLA) that aligns with your operations, priorities, and budget.

2. Security

Security, handled in the background — Protecting your systems, data and people shouldn't need your attention. We take a proactive, layered approach — so threats are dealt with before they reach you, and you can stop thinking about them.

3. Connectivity you don't have to manage — Microsoft 365, business phones, internet, secure remote access — and Starlink where the local line won't cut it. We look after all of it, so your team stays connected and you stay out of it.

4. Back on your feet fast — Downtime and lost data hurt. We set up and manage backups and disaster recovery quietly in the background — so when something goes wrong (power, hardware, a mistake), you're back running quickly, not starting over.

The people behind ODC

Who Olaf is

Olaf founded ODC, and he's the reason it works the way it does. Belgian by training and a Vanuatu local for well over a decade, he's spent his whole career doing one thing: making complicated technology simple for the people who rely on it. He'd rather teach you something useful than sell you something clever.

What he's quietly known for

Long before "just Google it," there was Experts Exchange — launched in 1996, one of the very first and largest online communities where IT professionals from around the world helped each other solve real problems. You couldn't buy a good reputation there; you earned it, purely by how much you helped others. Olaf became one of the world's most active experts on Microsoft Small Business Server — the technology that ran small businesses everywhere — and at one point climbed to 3rd in the world. He never charged a cent for a single answer.

Why do that for free? Because helping people understand and fix their technology — freely, patiently, in plain language — is simply how Olaf has always worked. That same instinct is exactly what ODC is built on today: we help first.

A track record you can lean on

Over 25 years, Olaf has designed, built and looked after the systems behind some of Vanuatu's best-known operations — from Ifira Ports & Development Services (including the wharf's terminal and container systems) to Iririki Island Resort, ANZ Bank Vanuatu, LJ Hooker, the Melanesian Spearhead Group and Vanuatu's airports. Big, serious projects — handled calmly, on time.

Before IT — and why it matters

Olaf spent an earlier career managing huge, live events — festivals, stadiums and major sporting events across Australia, where nothing can go wrong on the night. That's where the ODC way was forged: plan properly, stay calm under pressure, and make sure it just works.

Who Ted is

Ted first came to Vanuatu in 2017 as a US Peace Corps volunteer, teaching on Moso Island. The place — and its people — got under his skin, and in 2019 he came back to join ODC. Today he runs the whole operation as General Manager.

He holds a Bachelor's degree and is the team's deep end on server and database architecture — the behind-the-scenes engineering that keeps systems fast, secure and standing. More than that, Ted's the one who keeps the work calm and on schedule, so the promises ODC makes are the promises it keeps.

Why it matters for you

When you work with ODC you're not leaning on one person with limited bandwidth. Ted coordinates a full team — so if something complex comes up, you've got the whole bench behind you, not a single point of failure.
